My name is Chelsea, and I’m the artist behind Evergreen Daydreams. ☻

From an early age, I have had this borderline-obsessive drive to create, to make art in some form by whatever means necessary. I was always making something (though what exactly that something was supposed to be wasn’t always clear, even to me). I have dabbled in nearly every medium over the last thirty years, and while they all served as valuable creative outlets, none of them felt truly fulfilling….
until I started working with wood.

After finding this craft, I finally felt like the creative visions in my head were aligning with the output my hands could create. It was like I was seeing my creativity reach its potential after decades of feeling like maybe I just wasn’t all that good at art. I’ve never felt so profoundly rewarded by any creative endeavor in my life, and to have it come after so many years of self-doubt made it all the more meaningful.

Being able to manipulate such a rigid material into something that lives and breathes has been such a uniquely challenging experience, and I am always playing around with new techniques to make these pieces feel truly alive. I'm constantly amazed by the natural beauty of hardwoods and the color palette I am so graciously provided by Mother Nature. I strive to preserve and highlight the wood in its natural form in every project I undertake, in an effort to spread that wonder with others and foster a deeper appreciation for nature.

To be able to make art for a living is something I have always dreamed of, but my chosen body of work has granted me an opportunity beyond my wildest dreams: to share that art with people who so deeply appreciate it. The countless meaningful connections I've made with customers, many of whom are commissioning pieces in times of grief, have been so overwhelming and beautiful. Art has always been my passion – but this has made it feel more like my calling.

I am so happy you found me, however it happened! I hope to make something special for you someday, but thank you for being here all the same. Having anyone want to see my art (or read this much about me!) still feels like a daydream - but you have helped turn it into my reality, just by stopping in. Thank you, from the bottom of my heart. ☻
